LAFORGE LEADS JAYS TO VICTORY OVER BROTHER MARTIN
On Tuesday evening, after a long weekend, the Jays, with the largest crowd at the Benson Arena in the entire season, defeated Brother Martin 48-40 in one of the biggest games of the season. Jude LaForge led the Jays to victory with a team-leading 17 points and 9 rebounds. Brewer Nitcher also contributed to the Jays success with some key shots and rebounds. The Jays have a good chance to make a run in the playoffs, and are now tied for first in the Catholic League.
SOCCER TAKES CENTER STAGE: ADVANCES IN FIRST ROUND PLAYOFF VICTORY AGAINST DESTREHAN
The Jesuit soccer team (16-1-2) enters the LHSAA State Tournament as the number one seed and they certainly showed why in their 4 to 0 victory over Destrehan in the opening round. Senior Mateo Mencos led the team with 2 goals with seniors Jack Kessels and Adien Obletz adding to the score. The stout defense kept the Wildcats at bay completing the shutout. The Jays will face the winner of Brother Martin and Barbe in the second round.

ADORATION AT NIGHT: CAMPUS MINISTRY HOSTS EVENING OF FAITH AND FELLOWSHIP
The chapel of the Holy Name of Jesus played host to the most recent Campus Ministry Night, an evening of prayer, adoration, and fellowship between Jesuit and area Catholic girl schools. Beginning with adoration and benediction, the event focused on centering one’s life in Christ. Praise and worship music was lead by Drew Rivera and Mr. Miraflor, S.J., with a pizza party ending the night in St. Ignatius Hall. WRESTLING HEADS TO BOSSIER CITY TO DEFEND STATE TITLE
At the Brokeshire Grocery Arena situated in Bossier City, the Jesuit Wrestling team will attempt to defend their LHSAA state title. Led by nationally ranked heavyweight Spencer Lanosga, the Jays are positioned well for victory over half the team in the seeded category. The two day event sees the wrestlers advance through the brackets on Friday with the final rounds slated for Saturday. If you cannot make the trip to north Louisiana, the entire tournament is being streamed live on FloWrestling.com.

WELL…IT’S GROUNDHOG DAY AGAIN: PHIL CONNORS JOINS JAYSON FOR THE WINTER SPORTS PEP RALLY
Well.. It’s groundhog day. Jayson has been stuck in a loop this week as he lives out the same day over and over again in anticipation for groundhog day and the Winter Sports Pep Rally. For the past three days, Jayson has heard the same announcement played over the loudspeaker and the prediction that “if the groundhog sees his shadow, it means six more weeks of winning.” Will he see his shadow - indicating the Jays will continue their winning ways? We’ll find out this Friday at 2pm in the Benson Arena.
