BOWLING STRIKES NEW HEIGHTS: RANKED #1 IN LOUISIANA
Not settling for spares or second, the Jesuit bowling team is now ranked as the top team in Louisiana. Currently, the Jays hold the top spot in the state rankings and are one of only two undefeated teams in Division 1. This achievement marks the first time Jesuit has reached the #1 position in the history of the bowling program. As the team moves further into district play, the Jays will look to solidify their #1 ranking for the playoffs and secure their position as outright District Champions.

MAO MAKING MOVES: JESUIT HOSTS INAGURAL TOURNAMENT
Jesuit High School recently made history by hosting its first-ever Mu Alpha Theta tournament, drawing an impressive turnout of 255 students from 15 schools. Mu Alpha Theta, which is a national high school and junior college honorary mathematics club, focuses on its two goals of challenging academically talented students through competitions and fostering a communal interest in mathematics. To this end, Jesuit’s chapter of Mu Alpha Theta sought to bring together the local area “mathletes” to Carrollton and Banks for a morning of mathematical matchups.
ALL STAR WEEK A SUCCESS! (DESPITE FACULTY’S VICTORY)
Featuring a skills competition, a 3-point shootout, grade level all-star games, and highlighted by the Senior vs. Faculty game, there is little doubt that the inaugural intramural all-star week was a resounding success. Dreamt up by Coach Derrick Martin, the week long event produced many classic moments, but perhaps none so much as Fr. Polce, S.J. stellar play against the seniors. With the victory, the faculty evened the series 1-1, with the seniors having won the football game earlier in the year. Congratulations to all the all-stars and good luck in the upcoming March Madness tournament.

YOUR HONOR: MOCK TRIAL WINS DISTRICT COMPETITION
The mock trial team is returning to Carrollton and Banks with some well earned hardware. Competing in the highest division of difficulty, the Blue Jays finished as the winners of the Region I Mock Trial Championship. The team opened with a victory over Fountainbleu and followed it up by taking down a tough Hynes team in the first two rounds. The championship round saw the Jays defeat McGehee, with sophomore Derek Moore winning best attorney and best witness going to senior Harry Fantaci. The rest of the squad is rounded out by attorneys Tucker Schibler ‘24 and Zach Becker ‘25, and witnesses Christian Smith ‘25, and Grant Carroll ‘26. The Jays hope to bring home a state championship on March 23.

PASTA PERFECTION: PHYSICS CLASS TESTS STRENGTH OF BRIDGE
Like a bridge over pasta water? Students in Dr. Wayne Wagner and Mr. Travis Kieff’s physics classes were tasked with building bridges out of store-bought spaghetti. Recalling their earlier lesson on force, the students hoped to build the bridge that could withstand the most weight exerted upon it by Mr. Kieff’s bucket of weights. Each bridge’s final score was calculated through a formula that took into account the bridge’s own weight and the weight it could hold before snapping. If a bridge was particularly strong (like the one pictured), Mr. Kieff would take out the torque bar (also pictured here) to make sure every spectator was treated to a collapse. The annual event is also a highlight for the physics and engineering students.
