BUILDING UP THE KINGDOM OF GOD AT CARROLLTON AND BANKS
Mr. Reuther ‘01, principal of Jesuit High School, welcomed new students and faculty, urging them to look beyond their youth in pursuing God’s greater glory, inspired by the prophet Jeremiah’s story. He reminded the Blue Jays of their infinite value in God’s eyes despite feelings of unpreparedness. Mr. Reuther encouraged students to actively live their calling by creating opportunities to serve others and engaging with their families and community. He concluded by expressing full confidence in the Blue Jays ability to make the upcoming year the best yet for building up the kingdom of God.

HOUSE SYSTEM INTRODUCED IN REVAMPED INVESTITURE CEREMONY
On Wednesday, August 14th, our newest Blue Jays were ushered into a new year and a new way of Jesuit student life - the House System. Under this model, the student body is divided into four groups under the patronage of historical Jesuits: St. Jean de Brebeuf, St. Peter Canisius, Bl. Miguel Pro, and St. Francis Xavier. The House System will provide a framework for new students to become a part of the Blue Jay community through house mentorship, friendly competition, and fraternity.
WJHS LAUNCHES INTO NEW SEASON OF LIVE NEWS AND ANNOUNCEMENTS
A new year, a new theme, a new decade? WJHS launches, literally, into a new season of live news and announcements, while taking a cue from the MTV Moon Man. The first episode was broadcast to all homerooms on August 21st with anchors Wilson Frischhertz and Wyatt Mire welcoming the Blue Jay viewers back to the studio. The episode also marked the first installment of “Martin Motivation” in which Coach Martin will give tips on “how to get your mind right” and stay “locked in.” This week, Coach Martin encouraged the Jays to remain “allergic to average.” WJHS is broadcast live every Wednesday on the Student Life YouTube channel.
MAKING WAVES: CURRENT AND FORMER JAYS COMPETE AT ALUMNI SWIM MEET
Current and former Blue Jay swimmers gathered at the Green Acres Country Club this past Saturday for the Alumni Swim Meet. Organized by new swim coach, Mr. Brett Dipuma ‘14, the meet saw our current swimmers get some meet experience, while they were cheered on by Jesuit’s alumni swimmers. Though these former Jays weren’t only watching the event, they were able to get in the water and compete against each other for class bragging rights. The Jays will look to reclaim the state title behind seniors Enzo Solitario, Luke Balhoff, and Sam Schlafer.
