STUDENT MINISTRY LEADS WALK OF THE NINE CHURCHES
During the holiest time of the Church’s calendar, around 250 members of the Jesuit High School community, including students, alumni, and friends, convened on Good Friday morning for the traditional walk of the nine churches. The annual tradition holds a special significance on Good Friday, allowing Catholics to reflect on Christ's suffering through the Stations of the Cross and the Service of the Lord’s Passion. The walk spans a six-mile route from Holy Name of Jesus Church on St. Charles Ave. through uptown to the CBD, and ending at the Jesuit Church of the Immaculate Conception on Baronne St. The pilgrimage was led by Mr. Jeff Miraflor, S.J. and Mr. Nick Blair, S.J., and Brandon Briscoe ’98, who provided brief histories of each church. Fr. Jonathan Polce, S.J., led prayers at each station, with meditations offered by Student Ministry members.
