FULL SWING: GOLF TEAM PREPARES FOR DISTRICT TOURNAMENT
With the national focus on the Masters at Augusta this weekend, it might be easy to ignore the local golf scene; however, the Jays are giving golf fans a reason to watch. Under the guidance of first-year coach Mr. Bryan Bairnsfather and assistant coaches Nick Blair, S.J. and Mr. Marty Jaskiewicz, the Blue Jay golf team is gearing up for victory in next weeks district championships. Led by sophomore William Boasberg and senior Collin Shay, the Jays have had a solid Spring season and look to keep the momentum going. As the district tournament looms on April 15th, the team remains focused on their mission to bring back the championship trophy to Carrollton and Banks.

MEN FOR OTHERS: SOPHOMORES COMMITTED TO SERVICE
Modeled after the corporal works of mercy, the Sophomore Service days are designed to give Blue Jays in 10th grade a hands on experience working with the poor and elderly in the local community. The most recent excursion featured a trip to the Acorn Farm, which provides fresh food for the poor by caring for and farming local gardens. Under the supervision of ASC members Mr. Cole Roy and Mr. Marty Jaskiewicz, twenty-two Jesuit students helped to plant trees, till the soil, and prepare the garden for future vegetation.

CHAMPIONSHIP RUN: RUGBY BEGINS QUEST FOR DUAL STATE TITLES
The Blue Jays rugby team is set to enter uncharted territory by competing in not one, but two fiercely competitive leagues: the Varsity Cup and the Louisiana Cup. The Varsity Cup, renowned for its exclusive roster featuring top-tier rugby programs primarily hailing from Texas, including Jesuit Dallas and Strake Jesuit, now welcomes Jesuit New Orleans as its sole non-Texas contender. Under this dual-league initiative, the Blue Jays are poised to clash with formidable Texan adversaries both at home in Marconi and Harrison, and on the road in the Lone Star State. The Blue Jays face the unprecedented challenge of assembling two full varsity squads. However, the potential payoff is monumental: the opportunity to etch their names in history by securing victory on both Texan and Louisianan soil.

JAYS SECURE THE CARROLLTON CLASH CUP OVER DOMINCAN DEBS
For the second year in a row the Carrollton Clash Cup belongs to the Blue Jays. Led by stellar performances from seniors Brennan Aucoin, Jesse Martinez, and Luke Couret the Jays were able to defeat Dominican on their home court. Perhaps no individual was more important to securing the victory than junior Wyatt Mire who was able to anchor the Hula Hoop competition, which close the door on any chance for Domincan to win back the trophy. The Jays will look to go for the three peat next year when the event returns to the Benson Arena.

COMPLETE GAME: MORECI HOLDS HOLY CROSS SCORELESS
In a pivotal District 9-5A showdown against Holy Cross at Kirsch-Rooney Stadium, Jake Moreci of Jesuit bounced back from a challenging previous outing with an outstanding performance, hurling a complete-game shutout as the Blue Jays triumphed 6-0 to split the district series. Streaming live on CrescentCitySports.com, Moreci delivered a masterful five-hitter, striking out five and walking two after overcoming a rocky start. Everett Denny's home run in the fourth inning further solidified Jesuit's dominance. Coach Kenny Goodlett praised Moreci's resilience, while highlighting Denny's impactful contributions, who later received news of his selection to the Louisiana All-Star game. With this crucial victory, Jesuit (18-10, 6-4) remains in contention for the district title, gearing up to face John Curtis Christian in a pivotal two-game series at home on Thursday at 6:30 p.m.
