Grubbin' with Grant: Ralph's on the Park
Grant is back and bringing his taste buds to restaurants all across the crescent city.
Today, I’m taking on a New Orleans classic Ralph’s on the Park. First of all, the inside of the restaurant is beautiful, not to mention the stunning mossy oaks out the window in city park. For my first good review of the school year, I’m having a nice brunch with the family.
The menu was filled with mouthwatering titles. I decided on the smoked salmon toast and the stuffed French toast. The smoked salmon was delicious. The mixture of the crunch in the toast, the heaviness and smokiness of the salmon and cream cheese, and the sporadic pops of the LA caviar, made this a must have appetizer. The toppings kept falling off as I was eating it, but they were all worth picking back up. Then came the stuffed French toast. Oh my goodness, that first bite was otherworldly. The toast was another level of fluffy. Sandwiched between the toast was this perfectly sweet, perfectly light, strawberry cream cheese. On the side was fruit and a syrup that tasted just like honey. I was blown away by this dish and my family needed a taste.
Other foods that I got the privilege of tasting were the steak houssard and the crab omelette, both of which were amazing. I have to say Ralph’s is one of my new top spots in the city. If your family needs a nice brunch place, I would definitely recommend grubbing at Ralph’s on the Park.
